Dear Future-Self

This is it. Do or die. You have the rest of your life to dick around/goof off/waste time. Can you buckle down for just a few weeks? Yes, you can. No more Google Reader, FB, Twitter, or shopping. It sounds harsh, but, honestly, people have been through much worse, and it's not like all this stuff is like, DRUGS or something. You can quit cold turkey. You can, and you will. The payoff will be great, and life will go on in the way that it was intended: happy. No more limbo, no more waiting, no more hiding - just living.

Have you ever heard of this brand? Me neither. But apparently they're a super old Spanish company, are known for their meticulous craftsmanship, and make some SERIOUSLY AWESOME BOOTS. It's like the expensive and cool version of Uggs? $500?!

...Except that they were totally comfy and looked way badass and, trust me, if i HAD an extra 500 bucks just laying around, I'd have walked out of the store with them still on my feet. Oh, Santa...

New Address, Did You Notice?

I got really tired of typing the dash in "awk-star," so now the address is "wokward." Or is "wokstar" better? Or should I scrap the whole awkwardness and rockstar manacles and just go with my name? It's kind of hard committing to a blog address when you're not sure what it's supposed to be about. Please bear with me as I make up my mind.

I'm not too concerned with people not finding my blog, as it's not that fashion-y and not that interesting, either. Maybe when it gets better, I'll care more about increasing the readership. But for those who've kept up, and those who've stayed around, gracias.

Really, though, I'm going to try and make it better. Like, with more pictures and stuff. That's what people like to see, right? Except I highly doubt there will be an increase in my taking pictures of myself...

Also, I just got home from a free private HP7 screening, and it was great to get to cut the massive line and watch it 6 hours before all the obnoxious teenagers. I won't spoil it for you, but as it was a David Yates directed film, you'll know that there's a few changes and story omissions, which bothered me; otherwise, it was actually pretty dang good, for being the slower first half of book 7. EEEEEEEKKKK. I want to read the books again. For the nth time. This year.

New Baggus

So, I'm not sure if you're aware, but there are a few things that, if you're going to be my friend/stalker, you should know about me.

• I am curiously in love with elephants. Even a picture of an elephant or elephant print will make me squeal with glee. No idea where this comes from or how it came to be.

• Kind of in a stripes moment, so anything with monochromatic stripes will catch my eye

• My wardrobe consists mostly of grey, black, olive green, and blue, but my favorite color is pink.

• Bags are a fascination of mine; some might call it a "hobby." It makes me happy to think of what I might use a bag for, or what things I might pack into a particular bag. Even picking out things like reusable bags is fun for me.

That being said, I want all of these new Baggu bags. The top one in grey leopard print is a collaboration with No. 6, which really seems to be everywhere right now. And that means I'm taking it to be a sign that I need to hurry up and get those No. 6 boots I've been wanting for a year and a half before they either a) go up in price or b) get more popular.

Do I have any TRUE friends who would be willing to go during the madness of Nov. 23 and claw through the crazies to get one of those amazing dresses for me? It gives me shortness of breath, that's how much I love it all. Why couldn't the H&M in Dallas open THIS year, instead of next?

From far away, or just at first glance, the girl on the Free People website looks like Maggie Q.

Shows that I watch on the CW when I get really bored and have some time, and always enjoy because of their innate guilty pleasure-ness: Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, Hellcats, and now, Nikita.

No comment on any of them, just that they're fun, but they always make me miss Buffy.
