Same, but Different

Question is, which one do I love more?!

One of My Great Regrets

When it was on sale in January at brownsfashion for about 116 bucks, WHY DIDN'T I SNAP IT UP? Now it's gold and turquoise brother haunts and mocks me on every other fashion blog on these here interwebs. And of course the black and silver is gone forever - this was the only picture I could find of it anywhere.

I'm so sad.

Old School

Whilst attempting to clean out all the closets in our house, I found a sweet jacket that I'm planning on wearing the second it gets, like, October. Sigh.

Eagerly, impatiently, giddily for my new Luke Chueh print to arrive.

"Reach" Limited edition of 100. 2009.

I paid a premium for it, but just look at how fat the bunny is and tell me it wasn't worth it.

DIY Canvas Shoes

The ducky in a lion costume pair is Cheri's and the skull in bunny costume pari is mine.

New York Eating

Went on a road trip last week from NYC to Dallas. Awkward and crazy stories abound, but for now, I leave you with some of the delicious food we managed to cram into ONE DAY. And yeah, that's right, we had pork buns with 3 of our 5 meals there.

Women's Gymnastics

Visa Championships at the American Airlines Center was on Saturday. I was (and maybe still am) a teeny bit sad that my FIRST time at the AA center was for gymnastics and not for basketball, but the program turned out to be pretty fun/funny, and I had a surprisingly good time. We mainly paid because we thought Shawn Johnson would be there, and she's a cutie, but she didn't compete. Though she was there and made a few appearances throughout! So...that kind of made up for it. (Not really.)

Spent most of the time cheering for the 1 Asian girl competing, Ivana Hong, from Lovejoy, Texas. She was kicking butt until the floor routine, where hers was less than spectacular. Pretty sure a lot of the crowd around us thought we were related to her or something, because that was what we were aiming for by screaming "GO IVANA! WOOOOO!"

You know, being THOSE girls

Saw all the 2008 USA Olympic Team, men and women, so that was cool. Do you see Shawn Johnson?

And now I'm determined to make it to at least ONE Mavs game this season. Someone invite me to go with them, thanks.

Tie Dye

Is it in or out? I don't know, but it's a hell of a lot of fun - even doing it on a hot Texas afternoon like yesterday. Also: messy. Also: I'm probably never going to wear does anyone want some 'professionally' done tie dyed shirts? Just thought I'd put that out there.

I Like Toys

The Kidrobot Dallas Pop-up Shop is here through the holidays...and that just means that even after moving away from NYC, Kidrobot still found a way to take my money. Being a 'grown' woman out of grad school, wearing the clothes is a bit much. But my shelves are laden with their vinyl toys, and I am not ashamed. Nor was I ashamed when I jumped up and down in the store when I got the toy I wanted yesterday. Awkward is my middle name.

Between my brother and myself, we've got Nibbler, Bender, Sal (a chaser), and Mom. Jackpot would be getting Zoidberg, Robot Devil, and the other chaser - Slurm worm? Slurms Mckenzie? Blind box toys are dangerous, but the fun is all in the moments right before you tear it open.

Got my brother this pirate key chain a few months ago, and he managed to break it somehow. He tried to get lucky and replace it, but the box yielded him the army guy, below.

Being that my boyfriend is an army guy, I was gifted with this while my brother holds out for another pirate. I love it.

For the next few months, I'm living the rockstar life in my old room at my parents' house here in the burbs of Dallas, while I:
  • a) study for and take the patent bar,
  • b) wait for my actual bar results to come out in November,
  • c) wait for the boyfriend to come home from Afghanistan,
  • d) look for a job in DC or NYC, and
  • e) get ready to start the next phase of my life.

This will be my attempt at documenting my life on a regular basis. Don't hold your breath. I mean, it's a Friday night, and I'm at home taking pictures of my toys and starting a blog.
